QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hold valid Missouri Driver's License
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Including the ability to lift 60lbs.
- Must have a clean criminal background with no felony convictions.
- Successfully complete the training program provided by the district.
- Successful completion of D.O.T. Pre-employment Physical & Drug Screening.

JOB GOAL: To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students with disabilities may enjoy the fullest advantage of the district's curriculum and extra-curricular programs.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates specialized safety equipment on buses in relation to transportation of students with disabilities including; wheel chair lifts, wheel chair tie-downs, safety vests and car-seats.
- Safely secures all wheel chair passengers using tie-downs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Safely secures all students requiring safety vests and or car seats.
- Assists the Bus Driver in maintaining order and discipline among passengers on the bus in accordance with district policies related to disciplining students; prepares related reports as necessary.
- Determines appropriate action in emergency situations according to established guidelines; administers First Aid to passengers as needed.
- Operates, cares for, and cleans areas and equipment used in the transportation of students. Uses proper technique for cleaning and disposing of human fluids.
- Exercises responsible leadership when on school district activity trips.
- Attends monthly in-service training to improve skills, attitudes and knowledge of school bus driving and student management.
- Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed professional staff.
- Enforces regulations against eating, drinking, use of tobacco, profane language, harassment, physical contact, objects not thrown out windows and the use of any and all electronic devices/toys on the bus.
- All Aides must have School District ID when on duty.
- Demonstrates good human relations and communications skills.
- Submits to all required D.O.T. random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
