Posting Summary
Perform routine skill trades activities to maintain buildings and components with close instruction and guidance from higher-level skilled tradespersons. Follow detailed and established guidelines. Perform duties associated with carpentry, flooring, drywall repairs, painting, door repairs, lock repairs, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems. Manage information electronically. Promote a safe work environment and aid in properly maintain building and system operations. May operate a university vehicle and an aerial lift. This position reports to a supervisor and requires active engagement in learning and practicing principles of social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and delivering great customer service experience.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High school diploma and one year of experience in building maintenance repairs or assisting skilled trades. Basic computer skills required. Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain and driver’s check may be required. Competency in conversational English required. Specific physical requirements may apply based on job functions. Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing specific job functions. Initial employment contingent upon successful completion of background check.
