Form of workBuilding Substitute - Available Immediately The Warwick Community School and Warwick School District is Massachusettss newest publicschool district. Nestled into the scenic woodlands, along the border of Massachusetts, NewHampshire and Vermont our beautiful and innovative elementary school opened in the fall of 2023. The school sits on a 25-acre outdoor campus that features a vernal pool and cranberry bog. Mother foxes can be seen raising their cubs right outside the classroom windows.
We have many school gardens and plan to build more to support both our curriculum and our lunch program. Our school uses Expeditionary Learning modules and Illustrative Math and engages students in nature-centered, project-based learning. We have a warm and welcoming faculty. We are looking for a Building Substitute who can fill in for teachers, lead small groups and co-teach as necessary.
The ideal candidate will bring a love of learning, teaching and students and experience with classroom teaching. The ideal candidate would also have experience with Responsive Classroom and project-based learning. We use the Expeditionary Learning modules, Illustrative Math and UFLI (science of reading) curricula. Please indicate in your cover letter if you have experience with any of these curricular materials as well as teaching in and about nature.
