Job Description
Hiring Range: $22.55 - $28.19
Salary range is the entire compensation range for the position classification.
Performs duties such as maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities, electronic and mechanical equipment, electrical and plumbing systems, painting, moving furniture, conference room set-up, light replacement, construction, plumbing, mechanical, performing building inspections, assisting fellow maintenance staff, and performance of other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
Participates in the assigned installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair work of buildings and park facilities. Assignments include carpentry, painting, drywall, locksmith, plumbing, electrical, grounds maintenance, and HVAC systems.
Completes work order requests as assigned for all city employees and facilities promptly and efficiently.
Installs furniture and performs furniture reconfigurations by assembling and disassembling systems furniture, keyboard trays, assembling carts, etc.
Performs interior and exterior maintenance on buildings by replacing lights, painting, repairing locks, repairing toilets, snaking drains, and working on A/C and evaporative units. Cleans up outside of buildings, empties trash containers, and replaces recycle bins.
Sets up and tears down City events.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
Work requires the ability to read and understand written instructions, understand simple processes, and the routine operation of machines.
Three (3) years of experience in Building Maintenance or a related field.
Valid Arizona Class D Driver’s License.
Supplemental Information
Work requires the ability to read work orders, purchase orders, memorandums, letters, chemical labels, and internet and intranet information.
Work requires the ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Work requires the ability to write work orders.
Normal tasks require the use of definite procedures, with little deviation. Work requires limited analysis.
The employee in this position contacts others within the organization. These contacts may involve similar work units or departments within the City which may be involved in decision-making or providing approval or decision-making authority for purchases or projects. Vendors and suppliers may also be called upon for information on purchases, supplies, or products. Meetings and discussions may be conducted with customers, brokers, and sales representatives.
The employee must maintain regular attendance and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
