The Building Maintenance Technician II will perform routine maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, painting, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and grounds maintenance.
The Building Maintenance Technician II will also perform scheduled preventive maintenance, moving of furniture and belongings, and will drive vehicles and operate other motorized equipment in the course of their work assignments under the supervision of the Physical Plant Supervisor.
Perform routine maintenance tasks and preventative maintenance independently or in collaboration with other maintenance staff of a historically designated building (100+ years old) under various conditions
Attend training sessions and staff meetings and participate in the rotational emergency call system for the building
Assist in fire safety training of staff and residents
Other duties assigned as related to the position

Basic construction and preventive maintenance methods
Occupational safety guidelines
Skills:
Application of basic construction and preventive maintenance methods
Effectiveness with both hand and power tools
Ability:
Communicate with others of various backgrounds in a professional manner with specific regard to customer service
Apply safe, efficient, and productive skills to basic construction and preventive maintenance methods
Work under varied work hours and weather conditions
Experience with vintage buildings, particularly those on the Historic Registry
Experience working with the senior population
Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
Requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment
Valid Class 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
