JOB LOCATION:
- City Facilities as assigned.
- City of Zephyrhills.
SALARY RANGE:
- Starting Salary: $37,923.80 / $18.23/hr.
- Pay Grade: Z-154.
- Non-Exempt.
- Mandatory Testing.
- FAIR LABOR STANDARDS ACT STATUS: Applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in building trades or Building Maintenance and operations of facility systems.
- Applicants must be able to lift heavy objects, perform light carpentry, and operate small hand and power tools.
- Possess ability to understand and follow oral/written instructions and work well with co-workers.
- Must have knowledge of the safe operation and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Hold and maintain a State of Florida Class B CDL driver license with air brake endorsement, or obtain within six (6) months of employment.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Performs duties in and around security sensitive areas.
- Provides daily upkeep of city buildings and properties and conducts preventative maintenance. These duties include, but are not limited to, janitorial activities, painting, landscaping, inventory, and work on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Duties may involve the operation of gasoline, electric, and diesel powered machinery and shop equipment. Completes other related duties as assigned.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- The selected candidate will have a background check completed, undergo drug testing, and complete a physical exam before employment.
- Tasks completed for this position involve regular and, at times, sustained physical exertion.
- Possession and maintenance of a current valid State of Florida driver license is also required.
The compensation package will start at the base salary range and may vary based on proven abilities of the individual selected. The City of Zephyrhills has an excellent benefit package, which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and Florida Retirement System (FRS).
