Building Information Modeling Coordinator

Port of Portland is seeking a Building Information Modeling Coordinator who will serve as the go-to resource for resolving Building Information Modeling -related issues, and ensuring a smooth operation and processes

Your Role: As a Building Information Modeling Coordinator at Port of Portland you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the seamless integration of Building Information Modeling processes throughout our projects. You will collaborate with diverse teams, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the efficient implementation of Building Information Modeling workflows.   • Provide direction, coordination, and support for the implementation of Building Information Modeling on projects. Guide engineering staff, consultants, and contractors in the development of project Building Information Modeling execution plans.
  • Ensure projects are following Building Information Modeling standards, utilizing appropriate templates and libraries and adhering to the Building Information Modeling execution plan.
  • Train internal staff on Building Information Modeling processes and requirements.
  • Provide ongoing review of Port staff and consultant Building Information Modeling resource utilization and provide feedback to PM if productivity is out of alignment with cost.
  • Perform Building Information Modeling production of engineering drawings where project demands require Building Information Modeling expertise and support.
  • Contribute to the development and evolution of Building Information Modeling standards and maintain standard libraries and templates
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Building Information Modeling uses associated with facilities management.
  • Model complex systems from scans, record drawings, CAD files and other resources to meet the needs of customers.
  • Apply the requirements of the facilities models to the continuous improvement of the Port's Building Information Modeling standards.
  • Coordinate the development and delivery of Building Information Modeling data to support asset management, space management, facility engineering, maintenance and operations. Develop and support processes which maintain data quality throughout the lifecycle of an asset.
  • Provide training and mentoring to other staff members in the following Building Information Modeling related areas: planning, project design, project specification preparation, project execution planning, contract management, quality control, and/or work program implementation.
  • Track key performance indicators, calculate return on investment and develop graphics and presentations to communicate successes and opportunities to a wide variety of stakeholders
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR, the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience (required).
  • At least one (1) years' of experience as a Building Information Modeling coordinator OR, the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience (required).
Demonstrated Knowledge:
  • GIS, LiDAR scanning, and Scan to Building Information Modeling practice
  • Asset/space management principles and associated standards (ISOs, CoBIE, Uniformat, BOMA, Fire Life Safety).
  • Emerging tools and technologies and their application to engineering projects and related work.
  • Best practices in project/program Building Information Modeling implementation.
  • Contract language and standards creation/development as related to Building Information Modeling , Revit modeling, family creation, template files, standard libraries, parameter files, and asset data development.
  • National and International Building Information Modeling Standards.
Demonstrated Skills:
  • Autodesk products including Revit, Building Information Modeling 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Dynamo, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with an ability to interact at multiple levels within an organization
  • Process design, analysis, and improvement.
  • Strategic planning and thinking
  • Development and reporting of Building Information Modeling performance metrics.
  • Development and implementation of Building Information Modeling standards and processes at an enterprise or organizational level
  • Act as a change agent with all levels of management and staff within the organization.
  • Identify barriers to success and propose solutions

SELECTION PROCESS:

1. A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of February 25, 2024.
2. A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials including any responses to the supplemental questionnaire.
3. Our goal is to schedule oral panel interviews with candidates that successfully passed the SME evaluation step approximately the week of March 4, 2024 with second round panel interviews approximately the week of March 14 2024.
