Description
BSC 4PL Buyer / Program Specialist
Position title: BSC 4PL Buyer / Program Specialist
Reports to: Store Manager Rock Island
Position summary:
This motivated procurement specialist will enter new item data into the procurement system, generate Purchase Orders, track orders closely and clearly convey status to both customers and the salesperson. This person is adept at working with vendors to obtain optimum pricing and work through all availability/substitution issues. This individual is highly motivated, solution-oriented, resourceful, aggressive, diplomatic, and passionate about overseeing orders for key customers. This person is comfortable with handling multiple sales projects at once and can prioritize and multi-task in order to support the Sales staff in meeting all customer needs.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Enter new items in the procurement system.
  • Source items through BSC's network of 700+ vendors
  • Collaborate with GSA to ensure compliance with 4PL regulations & requirements.
  • Expand business opportunities with GSA and the 4PL program.
  • Ensure all EDI transactions are correct and are processed in a timely fashion.
  • Obtain vendor quotes & sourcing for new items needed by the 4PL customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have strong analytical skills.
  • Must be able to proficiently operate a computer.
  • Possess good written & verbal communication skills.
  • Able to multitask in fast paced environment utilizing time management skills.
  • Must work in a team effort and foster spirit of cooperation.
  • Accuracy & attention to detail.

Education and work experience:
  • 2+ years' experience in Microsoft Office environment: Outlook, Excel and Word required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, government contracting experience may be substituted.
  • Procurement and Logistics experience is preferred.
