We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a BSA Specialist. As a BSA Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring our company's compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.

POSITION DUTIES

  • BSA/FINCEN GUIDELINES & COLE MEMO PRIORITIES
  • Specialist will be required to know the regulatory guidelines sufficiently to apply to all account and client activities.
  • Specialist will be required to maintain BSA Certification.
  • Specialist will need to understand the ramifications of banking the industry on both a personal and professional level and protect the organization and themselves from any legal action.
  • Specialist will be required to monitor the industry for changes and trends that may impact banking.
  • Specialist responsible for filing the SARs after approval, performs ninety day reviews and maintains all documentation
  • Specialist responsible to work directly with bankers to file all SAR’s/CTR”s by set due date

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Credit union and/or financial institution products and services.
  • Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
  • Information systems and modern office methods and procedures.
  • Safe Harbor’s policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Present a positive and professional image to clients through effective and courteous verbal and written communications.
  • Establish and maintain filing and record keeping systems.
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with employees, other organizations, and the general public to explain general established policies, procedures, and systems
  • Exercise judgment, initiative, and discretion in sensitive matters.
  • Follow written and oral instructions and organize work to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Physically perform the essential job functions.
  • Utilize analytical skills for decision making and problem solving.
  • Operate standard office equipment such as a copier, computer, calculator, etc., which may require continuous or repetitive arm/hand movement.
  • One year of related experience in a financial institution.
  • High school graduate.
  • Capable of preserving confidential or sensitive information.
  • Effective time management, organization and multi-tasking skills.
  • BSA Certified.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Business Account knowledge
  • BSA Certification and understanding
  • Bachelors of Business Degree preferred
  • Ability to Self-train on this new industry and apply knowledge to protect Safe Harbor
  • Ability to STRICTLY follow and adhere to regulatory guidelines and rules surrounding the service to this industry.

OTHER DEMANDS

  • Attends appropriate BSA training as necessary.
  • Provides back up for the Security Officer as required.
  • Serves as active participant of the Suspicious Activity Report Committee
  • Works with compliance manager and private bankers to research and interpret changes in applicable regulations to maintain a working knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act and OFAC regulations.
  • Contributes to effective Safe Harbor operations by performing other related duties as assigned.
