Summary
The broadcast, videography and Photography communications associate will join a team of dedicated professionals who act as the newsroom for Baylor College of Medicine. The position offers the opportunity to work in a creative, dynamic office that develops internal- and external-facing content and communications strategies to advance the mission, vision and values of the College.
After an initial training period, the communications associate will have the opportunity to work one day per week from home within the Greater Houston area.
Job Duties
- Conceptualizes, produces, and edits video content while following established College guidelines.
- Edits videos and makes video conversions for digital delivery.
- Collaborates with marketing and communication teams to create video content in support of the College’s marketing and communication efforts.
- Records and edits media for the College’s events and podcasts.
- Maintains records of completed video projects.
- Maintains media related equipment, facilities, and supplies.
- May take photos in addition to video services.
- Interviews Baylor faculty, staff and students for video projects.
- Writes scripts for video projects.
- Participates in special projects as needed.
- Continually improves editing skills and techniques, keeping up with latest industry trends.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
Desired software:
- Adobe Creative Cloud
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator would be a plus but are not necessary
Equipment/Skills:
- Experience with DLSR cameras
- Experience setting up lighting equipment for video shoots (lighting for video interviews)
Other:
- Experience creating both short- and long-form video content for social media
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work well on a deadline, and come up with creative solutions
