Responsibilities
Chimney Construction:
- Building new chimneys according to architectural plans and specifications.
- Ensuring proper alignment and stability of the chimney structure.
Masonry Work:
- Laying bricks or other masonry materials to form the chimney structure.
- Using mortar to bind the bricks together securely.
Flue Installation:
- Installing flue liners inside the chimney to guide and contain combustion byproducts.
- Ensuring proper sizing and insulation of the flue.
Brick Repair and Replacement:
- Repairing damaged bricks or masonry components of existing chimneys.
- Replacing deteriorated or cracked bricks to maintain structural integrity.
Sealing and Waterproofing:
- Applying sealants or waterproofing materials to protect the chimney from weather-related damage.
- Preventing water penetration into the chimney structure.
Inspections:
- Conducting chimney inspections to assess structural integrity and identify potential issues.
- Providing recommendations for repairs or improvements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role
- Proficiency in Masonry Techniques: Knowledge and expertise in laying bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials.
- Understanding of Chimney Construction: Specific knowledge of chimney construction techniques, including flue installation and sealing.
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in bricklaying
- Strong attention to detail and precision in bricklaying work
- Ability to work with ladders, scaffolding and in high areas
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods of time
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
