At Cape Cod Beer, the Sales & Distribution Logistics Manager is the critical liaison between sales management, the sales team, the production team, the distribution team, and the customer. They are responsible for managing the day-to-day logistics of both the sales and distribution teams. They help define the standard operating procedures for both teams, help train them on these procedures and then enforce adherence to them. They are the center of the sales and delivery system, making sure that beer is being delivered safely and on a timely basis. They are also the person responsible for making sure we are upholding the highest level of customer service across our wholesale business.
The perfect candidate has strong computer skills, and loves to solve logic puzzles. Keeping 600+ customers in beer every week, year round, with a fleet of 3 delivery trucks and 3 – 5 distribution employees is sometimes an interesting puzzle to solve. But we’ve got 19 years of experience behind us, so we’ve certainly figured out all the right tools and tricks to make this job easier. The perfect candidate is also a people person, as they will spend a fair amount of time talking to customers, helping sales reps solve logistics issues, and helping our drivers navigate Cape Cod in the summer!
This position reports to President/Brewmaster, and is an integral member of the Management team at Cape Cod Beer.
Skills required:
- Must be able to multi-task and effectively manage time while also being detail and quality focused.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with a positive attitude, sincere interest, and in a positive way with staff, management, and customers alike.
- Must have strong computer skills, including Excel, Office suite or similar, Google Calendar or other calendar apps and familiarity with Android based apps. Being a quick learner also helpful.
- Must be willing to be cross trained and cross functional with all departments and willing to helping out in any or all other aspects of the business as sometimes required, including retail sales, production/filling, and cleaning, etc.
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, and be able to work both independently and as a member of a team. Must also be willing and able to deliver product as necessary.
- Must be able to make decisions in a timely manner, and be willing to learn, understand and unhold all job-related SOPs, policies, procedures and Cape Cod Beer’s 4 Pillars.
- Must enjoy beer and the culture of beer and be always looking for ways to improve the company.
- Must be prompt, responsible and dependable, and have a clean driving record. .
- Must have a well-developed sense of humor.
- Candidates with a 4 year degree in an applicable field preferred, as are those who have previous managerial or supervisory experience.
Pay commensurate with Experience.
