As a Cheese Shop Specialist, you'll provide a well-stocked, well-maintained department while providing superior customer service. You'll prepare, package, and merchandise fresh cheese on a daily basis while maintaining all food safety and sanitation standards. You'll continue to grow your knowledge of specialty cheeses from around the world.

We are looking for:

• a high school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience in cheese sales
• communication and interpersonal skills

What is the work?
Customer Service / Sales:

• Provides superior customer service
• Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
• Answers customer questions regarding products; assists them with selections
• Uses suggestive selling techniques and advanced product knowledge to meet customer needs and build sales
• Works with Deli Manager to develop sales goals and track against them

Food Service:

• Prepares, packages, merchandises fresh product effectively
• Slices, makes specialty cuts, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
• Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set-up and clean-up processes)

Food Safety:

• Cleans and sanitizes display cases
• Operates / maintains equipment properly

- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards, and department / Store operating procedures
What is your background?

• Minimum age 18 (mandatory)
• High school diploma, or equivalent
• 6+ months of experience in cheese sales
• Completion of Company Orientation, and food safety and sanitation training upon hire

Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H-E-B Cheese Shop Specialist?

• Advanced knowledge of top cheese families and selections, and the cheese-making process
• Knowledge of computer systems and equipment (e.g., PC, symbol, scales, label machine)
• Strong customer service skills
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Reading and writing skills
• Planning and organizing skills
