The Hotel Hartness is actively searching for an efficient, detailed, and self-motivated Breakfast Attendant to join our Front Office team.
Full time and part time opportunities available. Candidate must have a flexible schedule with availability to work mornings, weekends and some holidays.
Essential Functions:
  • Greet, direct, seat, and tend to food and beverage guests, including directing and assisting guest with breakfast offerings, preparing specialty coffee drinks (IE Espresso), replenishing coffee, replacing silverware, and other service needs based on HCH service standards.
  • Setup and maintain breakfast buffet, adhering to local health regulations and guidelines.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Breakdown breakfast area and prepare for the next shift ensuring a clean and presentable environment.
  • Complete all side work tasks, as determined by MOD, efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Stock glassware, silverware, and napkin backups in all areas (FOH, service areas, bar).
  • Restocking self-service food and supplies as needed.
  • Clearing and cleaning tables as they are vacated.
  • Wiping up spills and maintaining cleanliness of all appliances and counter space throughout the morning.
  • Wash trays to ensure proper sanitation and immaculate front of the house presentation.
  • Must be willing to work early morning hours.
  • Assist in the set-up and breakdown of banquet functions and holiday/special menu buffets as needed.
  • Replenishing buffet items when determined by MOD.
  • Perform additional cleaning tasks, as determined by MOD, such as wiping all kitchen doors down, wiping restaurant windowsills, sweeping work areas, etc.
  • Change beverage syrups as needed.
  • Impart to the customer warmth and graciousness, much as you would give a guest in your own home.
  • Be thoroughly familiar with menu items and related materials.
  • Clean and maintain all working areas and equipment.
  • Assist in resolving any complaints and communicate disgruntled customers to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Undertake all reasonable tasks requested by supervisors.
  • Represent a positive working liaison with all other members of the kitchen and front of house staff.
  • Complete all listed opening, side-work, and closing checklists, cleaning checklists, and duties related to shift.
  • Check out with manager once shift is complete.
  • Consciously assist in all company promotions when required.
  • Practice cleanliness and safety in all dining areas, liquor, and wine storage areas.
  • Understand and communicate daily specials and specialty menus to guests.
  • Deliver food consistent with expectations of proper timing of food courses when food running.
  • Assist in training new employees and helping others, using the host philosophy.
  • Assist team members as needed to promote a positive teamwork environment.
  • Practice conscious knowledge of food allergies and safety, communicate effectively to guests with allergies.
  • Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays or special events.
  • Address each and every guest using the S.E.A.C. method, with a Smile, Eye contact, Acknowledge their presence in a timely manner with appropriate greeting, and kindly Close.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
  • Understand and practice all HCH safety and security procedures, including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Accident Reporting, Right to Know Law, Written Information Security Program, Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures, Anti-Harassment Policy, and Violence in the Workplace Policy.
  • Comply with all Hotel and HCH time and attendance policies.
  • Comply with all Hotel and HCH uniform, dress code, and appearance standards.

About Hotel Hartness & Patterson Restaurant:
Hartness Living, the Greenville area's most exciting and architecturally stunning traditional neighborhood development, is the home to a new hospitality collection managed by Hay Creek Hotels.
Hotel Hartness, opened in early 2023 with 73 luxury suites, meeting and event space, and world-class luxury spa. Village Kitchen, Patterson, and catered events are all led by locally acclaimed Executive Chef, Tanner Marino.

Experience and Skills
Required Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be very skilled with technology and a quick learner. Working knowledge of a Property Management System preferred.
  • 1 year customer service experience required, hotel environment highly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a constructive, team working environment with a positive, upbeat and customer-focused attitude.
  • Proven success in handling guest complaints.
  • Ability to operate smoothly and professionally under high stress situations.
  • Flexibility to work nights or mornings, weekends, holidays, and busy seasonal days (i.e. town festivals).
  • Successful completion of background check and/or DMV check.
