Job Details
Hewn, an independently owned and nationally recognized artisan bakery in Evanston, just north of Chicago IL, is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Bread Baker to join our growing team. Applicants must have at least one year of artisan bread baking experience in a retail and/or wholesale bakery, and/or be a recent culinary graduate (Please do not apply if you do not have this experience.). You must have experience using commercial bread ovens, as well as professional experience mixing, shaping and scoring sourdough loaves, baguettes, ciabatta and other items. This is not a management-level position. Experience with laminated doughs and brioche is a plus, as the bread team works with our pastry team on several items as well. Applicants should be willing to work afternoon/evening shifts and weekends. ServSafe Food Handlers and Allergen certification is required.

We are looking for someone who can work both independently and with a team and who is committed to producing high-quality, consistent work. We need additional bakers as our business expands.

All applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs and be comfortable being on their feet for several hours.
