The Brand Manager, Covergirl Face, is responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of business and marketing strategies to drive profitable growth for the Covergirl portfolio. He/She will lead development of the marketing and promotional activities of the responsible brand franchises, along with business analysis, planning, and forecasting. He/She will contribute to the total effectiveness of the brand by offering business recommendations and creative ideas, communicating openly, and proactively solving problems.
In addition, the Brand Manager, will play a key role coordinating programs across the broader integrated marketing team - including Global Marketing, Local Brand Marketing, Local Trade Marketing, Advocacy, In-Store, and external agency partners - to ensure seamless in-market execution.
The Brand Manager is versatile and knows his/her market, portfolio, and consumers better than anyone else. He/she has strong analytical, leadership and communication skills and is highly attuned to both the competitive environment and pop culture. He/she is detail oriented, has high quality standards, and can manage complexity across numerous stakeholders to deliver results on time with excellence.
THE ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Ongoing business analysis and reporting of monthly sales data (Nielsen). Analyze and derive insights from sales trends, customer trends, competitive performance, and industry trends to recommend both short and long-term strategic choices and actions to the business. Prepare reports and executive presentations for senior management.
- Partner with team members on forecasting monthly consumption based on sales trends. Proficient P&L management and ownership. Evaluate detailed sku-level performance biannually to recommend items for discontinuation.
- Partner with team members on budget management for Covergirl, including a monthly reconciliation with budget actuals.
- Support the Marketing Director on the planning and launch execution for Face, collaborating with brand marketing peers and cross-functional partners to deliver with excellence brand initiatives that win in the market.
- Support Marketing Director on national consumer promotional plans, including FSI, dFSI, and cash-back activities.
- Monitor excess and obsolete inventory and provide strategic recommendations on how to reduce / mange.
- Lead the preparation of sales materials, including internal webinar presentations to Sales teams and retailer line review presentation materials.
- Key liaison and brand representative in all cross-functional and leadership meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
We'd love to see candidates who have:
Essential:
- 4-year Undergraduate Degree
- 5+ years minimum of relevant work experience in marketing
- Beauty / Color Cosmetics / Mass Customer experience strongly preferred.
- Familiar with Nielsen Database / NDP Reporting; MS Office Proficient (Excel and PowerPoint)
Desirable:
- Deep, unrelenting passion for Beauty: in-tune with marketplace, seeks out new ideas and inspiration. Plugged into what's trending, new and next and able to connect that awareness with business and planning strategies.
- Business: strong ability to work across different projects and cross-functionally. Must be able to work on multiple tasks at the same time and work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic: strong attention to detail, planning, administration, facilitation, creativity, problem analysis and decision making.
- Leadership and Personal: strong inter-personal communication skills. Ability to work with many different teams. Ability to motivate others, relationship building, integrity, dependability, initiative, flexibility, impact, tenacity, autonomy, collaboration.
