Branch Supervisor (Public Library)

Cassville Branch--Barry-Lawrence Regional Library District

Barry-Lawrence Regional Library District is a two-county consolidated library district with nine branch library locations spread throughout Barry and Lawrence counties in southwest Missouri. The Cassville Branch is nestled in the heart of the Ozarks. The surrounding area offers recreational opportunities for fishing, hunting, and camping at neighboring lakes and parks. Nearby cities such as Branson, Springfield and Joplin offer shopping, restaurants, healthcare facilities, and entertainment including Silver Dollar City amusement park.

This full time (40 hours per week) position is available June 2024. Under the direction of the Library Director, duties include, but are not limited to, supervision and training of branch Public Library staff, planning and developing Public Library programs, handling public relations within the community under the direction of the Public Relations Coordinator, selecting books/materials for purchase, weeding and maintaining branch material collections, working with the automated library catalog and circulation system, keeping records, and acting as a liaison to the community. Performs general shelving and circulation duties and assists library customers in locating information and books. (Complete job description is available upon request.)

Desirable experience, education and training—Bachelor’s or Master’s in Library Science or education equivalent required. At least 2 years library related work experience and/or supervisory experience is required. Excellent computer, organization, and customer service skills required. Must possess the ability to positively promote library services within the community.

Starting salary is dependent upon experience and education level. Benefits are included. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and Saturdays.
