We are looking for a talented Supervisor to oversee our Brake DynamometerLaboratorywho will be responsible for overseeing employees and testing equipment for assigned areas and workflows in a multi-shift facility. Candidate should have experience organizing work groups, coaching employees, monitoring progress, enforcing rules, and ensuring quality compliance. You must possess strong communication and leadership skills and the ability to resolve workplace issues effectively and timely.
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing day-to-day testing workflow through a multi-shift laboratory across passenger car and commercial vehicle Brake Dynamometers while following, creating, and establishing workflows that meet internal and external customer requirements, deadlines, and (KPI)- Key Performance Indicators. Oversee shift structures for hourly technicians at various skill levels, from lead to entry-level technicians. Work with direct and indirect peer groups to achieve the target (OOE)—Overall Operational Efficiencies across assigned brake laboratory equipment and staff.
  • First point of contact for the assigned area across multi-shift testing laboratory environment
  • Maintain employee work schedules, and shift structure, including assignments, balanced workload, workflows, and overtime schedules
  • Maintain multi-shift staffing levels per business needs and objectives
  • Manage day-to-day workflows for responsible areas using LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) and other provided tools and software
  • Interact with internal and external customers regularly
  • Ensure laboratory and equipment appearance and maintenance meet company requirements
  • Ensuring training plans are updated per new processes and employees progress per documented training plans ensuring they meet performance expectations
  • Ensure work is being executed Safely, Accurately, Reliably, Technically, and in a Timely manner
  • Work with team and manager to accomplish KPI Targets per business objectives
  • Schedule and lead team meetings regularly for direct and indirect reports, scheduling, general awareness, KPI target vs. actual performance
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture within your team, documenting, recommending, and implementing improvement opportunities through our quality system
  • Own challenges within your assigned area and work with management to find solutions
  • Own the hiring and termination process for responsible areas maintaining adequate staffing levels
  • Ensure safe working conditions for all and use of all available safety equipment
  • Ensure adherence to legal and ethical business practices
  • Ensure adherence to company policies
  • Ensure adherence to LINK quality process and procedures
  • Be a consistent role model and advocate of the LINK culture that emphasizes the organization's identified mission, vision, and values

  • Responsible for submitting an accurate labor ticket daily
  • Responsible for ensuring all direct reports submit their labor tickets daily
  • Responsible for approving all your direct reports labor tickets by noon the next business day
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years experience working in a testing laboratory environment
  • Recommended two years in a leadership role with direct or indirect employees
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proactive organizational skills with an eye for details
  • Mechanical aptitude with a strong understanding of a wide variety of on and off-road braking systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Experience using collaboration tools, such as Office 365, Web-based collaboration tasking and tracking systems
  • Experience using Windows-based computers and software
  • Understanding of network and cloud storage structures
  • Excellent organizational skills and an eye for details and time management
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to train, lead, and provide direction for direct and indirect employees
Other:
  • Ability to:
    • Work overtime or additional hours with limited notice
    • Adjust core hours or work schedules from time to time in support of off-shifts
    • Travel to other LINK facilities within North America
