Supervises, coordinates and promotes all phases of the interscholastic swimming program. Combines a comprehensive knowledge of the sport of swimming with coaching experience to improve the fundamental skill, team strategy and athletic fitness needed to achieve a degree of individual and team success. This person is directly responsible to the principal and works in cooperation with the faculty manager.
Within the framework of the swimming program, the Head Swimming Coach provides leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of coaching to ensure each student-athlete will achieve a full and productive swimming experience. Such teaching activities include but are not limited to: crawl stroke (free style), breast stroke, butterfly stroke and back stroke. In addition, source of power, body and head positions, arm and leg recovery and racing turns for the aforementioned strokes are to be taught.
