Responsibilities:
Box Office Operations:
- Ensure prompt and accurate sale of tickets.
- Provide courteous assistance to patrons regarding seating, ticketing options, and venue information.
- Collaborate with the box office team to maintain a timely and smooth ticketing process.
Merchandise Sales:
- Engage customers in a friendly and approachable manner to promote and sell event-related merchandise.
- Offer detailed information about merchandise items, pricing, and availability with a focus on exceptional service.
- Ensure prompt and accurate sale of merchandise.
- Create and maintain visually appealing merchandise displays to attract patrons.
Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive and friendly experience for all attendees.
- Utilize strong social skills to interact effectively with a diverse audience, catering to their needs and inquiries.
Cash Handling and Reporting:
- Proficiently handle cash and credit card transactions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.
Collaboration and Support:
- Collaborate proactively with the wider team, including box office staff, merchandise vendors, and event staff, to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide flexible support across various areas of the office, venue and/or event as needed, including assisting with event take-down on an as needed basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience in customer-facing roles, demonstrating timeliness and a friendly demeanor.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage patrons effectively.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including basic software applications.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, Saturdays, and potentially holidays during events.
- Adaptability to changing schedules and extended hours based on event requirements.
Note: This part-time entry-level position is seasonal, operating from April/May through mid-September, seeking a candidate who can deliver exceptional service while efficiently assisting with box office and merchandise operations within this specified period. The position requires candidates to work one day per week in both the main office and museum office, along with mandatory event attendance as per the event schedule, aiming for efficient management of box office, merchandise, and administrative tasks across various locations.
