SalaryProgenco is an exciting early-stage biotechnology startup in Davis, CA that is poised to add tremendous value to the beef and dairy industries. As a Bovine Embryologist, you will work in our state-of-art lab performing bovine in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures and be involved in all aspects of bovine embryo production in an innovative system. Key responsibilities:
- Prepare plates of media for culturing bovine oocytes and embryos
- Strip oocytes of cumulus cells
- Process frozen semen for in vitro fertilization
- Select bovine embryos
- Freeze embryos
- Ship oocytes/embryos
- Maintain the lab cleanness
- Assist with embryo transfer on farm when required
- Enter data with accuracy in timely manner
Preferred Experiences and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or animal-related field preferred but not required
- Prior hands-on experience in embryology preferred but not required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under a microscope for long periods of time
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexibility: rotational weekend/holiday work may be required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
