Summary
Boucheron is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications Director, Americas. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing press, celebrity and influencer activations that enhance the visibility, awareness, and desirability of the Maison, as well as bolster brand strategy, image, and singularity. The role requires an energetic team-centric individual with an interest in working in a start-up environment in a 165-year-old Maison, supported by luxury group Kering.

SALARY RANGE: $140,000 - $160,000
About Boucheron: Created by Frédéric Boucheron in 1858, Maison Boucheron has evolved through four generations of direct descendants. A visionary designer and the very first of the great contemporary jewelers to open a boutique on Place Vendôme, Boucheron still embodies absolute excellence in Jewelry, High Jewelry, and Watchmaking today. The Boucheron style, free and daring, is an expression of the vision, creativity, and innovation of the Maison.
Position Overview: Boucheron is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Relations, Influence & Partnerships Director, Americas. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and executing press, media, events, celebrity and influencer activations that enhance the visibility, awareness, and desirability of the Maison, as well as bolster brand strategy, image, and singularity. The role requires an energetic team-centric individual with interest in working in a start-up environment in a 165-year-old Maison, supported by luxury group Kering.
Job responsibilities:
• Ensure Boucheron is held to the highest standards and brand positioning across all communication activities to express the Maison's singularity.
• Lead and execute Americas communication plan and develop brand image for relevance and desirability.
• Oversee all functions pertaining to press, partnerships (including media and events), corporate communications, celebrity & influencer activations, and more.
• Support short-term business targets and long-term objectives.
• Partner with Head of Marketing & Communications and HQ to develop focused strategies for increased brand awareness and exposure.
• Lead year-round communication campaigns, including press activations, press releases, media monitoring, asset creation and more.
• Effectively launch new products and messages using a 360-degree approach.
• Emphasize category development to build and grow iconic collections.
• Oversee impactful digital, print, and OOH media strategies.
• Amplify brand, build awareness, and drive qualified traffic via paid media.
• Oversee celebrity and influencer activations to express the singularity of the Maison.
• Build and maintain relationships with key press contacts, editors, journalists, celebrity stylists, influencers, agencies, vendors, and key opinion leaders.
• Manage and oversee all aspects of events for the American market, including invitations, guest lists, logistics, and follow-up.
• Ensure measuring systems and tools are in place such as DMR, Lefty, Launchmetrics, etc., to support growth and ensure effective communications strategies.
• Ideate communications opportunities, introducing both traditional and forward-thinking ideas.
• Identify and analyze missed opportunities and strategize on how to course correct.
• Partner and liaise with local and HQ teams on regional communications strategies to generate buzz and awareness.
• Inform and guide partners, including internal teams and external agencies, deepening their understanding of our Maison, while establishing comprehensive guidelines and targets, considering local nuances
• Provide support and coaching to empower partners to achieve on-brand execution.
• Offer direction, leadership, and guidance to partners, fostering growth.
• Act as an ambassador of Boucheron to find opportunities to make the Maison shine in the American market.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in PR, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
• 8+ years of public relations, influencer, events, and/or celebrity experience with understanding of luxury industry preferred.
• Strong network of industry relationships in the luxury, creative or fashion spaces, as well as new media.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, start-up environment with hand on the pulse of the competitive landscape.
• Proven track-record of successful press placements in top-tier publications both online and offline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling stories, pitches, presentations and more.
• Friendly and upbeat personality with a team-centric approach while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Creative & tactical thinker with a proactive, organized, and diligent approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality & discretion in handling sensitive information.
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Leadership skills to create and manage a team and mentor junior colleagues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
• Knowledge of industry platforms such as DMR, Launchmetrics, Cision, Lefty (or other communication tracking tools) and more is preferred.
Additional Information: Boucheron successfully kicked-off the global re-launch in 2017 with a strong geographical development on historical markets (Europe, Japan, Middle East), while also developing new major territories in China & Korea. Starting in 2023, Boucheron will write another page of its history with the conquest of the American market.
The next step of this plan is the creation of a solid Marketing & Communications team to lead the efforts in establishing Boucheron as the most stylish & cutting-edge French High Jewelry Maison in the American market. In terms of scope, the journey will begin with US & Canada, while the rest of the Americas will be explored at a later stage. The role is an exciting, new challenge for you and a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
