Job Summary

Disrupt Managementis currently seeking an experiencedBookkeeping Specialistto join our corporate team in Houston, Texas.

The role of theBookkeeping SpecialistatDisrupt Managementinvolves providing financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization. Their role is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving payments, plus processing, verifying and reconciling invoices in a timely and efficient manner. TheBookkeeping Specialistwill report directly to the Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Property and business account reconciliation and completion of financials
  • Maintain and review accrual basis property general ledgers, balance sheets and income statements, including preparing and recording journal entries as required
  • Month-end close responsibilities, reconcile and manage transitions into the next period.
  • Cross company billing and collaboration.
  • Manage process and make accounting changes and management changes creating monthly financial package for internal review by the 10th of each month.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts (including bank reconciliation) and examine all general ledger accounts for accuracy and make corrections as needed
  • Ensure periodic bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure required critical payments are made
  • Interacting with property managers to resolve issues
  • Perform corporate credit card reconciliation monthly
  • Process corporate payables and payroll
  • Record biweekly payroll journal entries
  • Assume additional related responsibilities as required
  • Facilitate Disrupt QuickBooks, billing sites, processing of reimbursements by corporate employees, and other forms of reconciliation.
  • Property reimbursements/transfers to management company and HR company and other items as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Efficient multitaskers that enjoys a fast paced environment
  • Previous bookkeeping experience required
  • Proficient at researching issues and problem solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize in a deadline driven environment
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and organizational structure
  • Strong working knowledge of Financial Statements, including Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet, and the ability to review with/explain to clients.
  • Intermediate to advanced QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop user, Excel and Google Suite who enjoys learning new technology using to full functionality
