Bookkeeping Advisor

About the Role:

We are looking for advisors to serve in a range of accounting roles, from bookkeeper to controller to CFO, depending on experience. Each advisor chooses which clients they take on, and the scope of work they want to provide. Advisors must have solid communication, analytical and time management skills to work cohesively and effectively with clients. Experience working with fintech software is a plus, but not required. Breakaway provides a fully vetted suite of cloud accounting software, including setup support and ongoing training. 

 Essential job functions vary by client but may include:

• Excellent client service and communication  
• Utilize provided systems to organize and keep track of information and work progress
• Bookkeeping services, such as: maintain bank feeds, reconciliations, prepare regular financial reports, payroll, issue 1099s
• Manage and advise clients on the budget process
• Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
• Drive client's financial planning with advisory services and forecasting
• Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization's operations
• Set up and oversee the client's finance IT system
   

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• No degree required for some positions, though prior bookkeeping experience or coursework is necessary for these roles
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree and prior accounting experience required for CFO roles
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable working directly with clients
• Comfortable and experienced in communicating remotely (Zoom, etc.)--or a willingness to learn
• Eager to build your own business
