Bookkeeper/Accounts Payable

Accounts Payable Bookkeeper (Chicago Area, IL)

Canino Electric is an electrical contracting corporation located in the greater Chicago area. We are seeking a construction accounting bookkeeper to work in accounts payable. The bookkeeper will be directly responsible for accurate entry of day-to-day financial transactions.

Shall be responsible for:

• Entering invoices from vendors and subcontractors
• Verifying and filing tax exempt status for appropriate invoices with vendors
• Collecting and inputting business information of new vendors
• Verifying certificate of insurance and subcontract compliance status for subcontractor payment approval
• Selecting and sending appropriate payments to vendors
• Interfacing with project managers for invoice approvals
• Processing city and state sales tax payments

Job Requirements:

• High attention to detail and accuracy skills
• High organizational skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
• Proficiency in mathematics and data entry
• Bachelor’s or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university (accounting/finance related field preferred)
• Bookkeeping experience (special consideration for bookkeeping experience in the construction industry)
• Experience and proficiency with accounting and payroll softwares

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
