Enrolled Agent/Bookkeeper

We are a small business accounting firm looking for a full-time Bookkeeper and Enrolled Agent. Padgett has been in Williamson County for 20 years, most of that in our current location. Our wonderful clients are representative of some of the best small businesses in the area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be assigned specific clients. We believe in personal service and consistency.

• Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process for assigned clients
• Bring the books to the trial balance stage
• Perform partial checks of the posting process
• Enter data, maintain records, and create reports and financial statements
• Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner
• Process business, sales, and other state-required taxes on a timely basis
• Must have tax preparation experience and be an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, able to sit for the exam, or a CPA

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Associate degree preferred in accounting or business-related field
• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping
• 3+ years of experience in tax return preparation
• QuickBooks certification is a plus
• Enrolled Agent with the IRS

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Knowledge of: Excel; QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Word; Outlook; Teams; UltraTax CS; and strong general computing skills

OTHER SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, financial statement preparation, and general ledger functions.
• Detail-oriented; comfortable working with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
• Compassionate, energetic, and team-focused.

REFERENCES AND BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
