Book Processor

Description:

Mackin Educational Resources, a well-established, highly respected provider of PK-12 grade fiction and non-fiction books, located in the South Metro, is looking to add the right individuals to our Book Processing Department. We have full-time and part-time day shifts available.

Our Book Processors are responsible for accurately and efficiently applying plastic protective book coverings, labels, pockets, and other miscellaneous materials to books and non-print materials while meeting our quality and quantity quotas. New Book Processors are also expected to be able to do Special Projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Able to read, comprehend and perform written and oral instructions with strong attention to detail.
• Capable of following detailed and precise instructions when applying plastic protective coverings, labels, pockets, and other materials to books.
• Able to handle extremely repetitive job functions while meeting quality and quantity quotas throughout the entire shift.
• Capable of repetitively moving fingers, hands and arms in a coordinated and cohesive manner.
• Proficient in grasping, manipulating and assembling objects with precision.
• Able to remain in a seated position for 60 minutes or longer at a time.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and push roll carts full of books while ensuring the safe handling of materials.

Special Project Job Requirements (as assigned)

• Able to stand, walk, bend and reach repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Able to pack books into boxes and lift boxes full of books up to 25 lbs.
• Able to complete a variety various stationary or physical tasks as assigned for special projects.

Shifts

Day Shifts:

Full-time - Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, 40 hours per week

Part-time - Monday - Friday, 8am - 1pm to 2pm or 4 days a week from 8am - 3pm to 4pm 25 or more hours per week

Evening Shifts:

Full-time - Monday - Friday, 2pm - 10pm, 40 hours per week

Part-time - Three to five evenings per week (M-F). Starting time between 4pm and 6pm, ending time at 9pm or 10pm, 12 to 35 hours per week

Starting Hourly Rate: $17.20
