JOB DESCRIPTIONThe top investor-owned energy company in the US provides a wide range of energy-related products and services to its variety of customers which include renters, residential owners, small and medium sized businesses, commercial, industrial, community affairs, and more. Operating as one of the world's largest energy delivery systems across clean energy, electric, gas and steam services.
Looking for a Boiler System Engineer to join the Steam & Gas Engineering team, who has a thorough understanding of utility/industrial boiler design, operations, maintenance, testing or analysis, and safety procedures. In this role, you are responsible for supporting conventional utility boilers, HRSGs, package boilers on the field and will provide efficiency testing, heat rate and performance analysis, combustion tuning, inspections, tube repairs and installations, hydrostatic testing, power plant chemistry and chemical cleaning processes. You have experience with Distributed Control Systems, Burner Management Systems, and co-generation operating cycles.
Additionally, you must have working knowledge of auxiliary systems and associated equipment, such as, fuel delivery systems, high energy piping systems, steam turbines, and generators, in order to inspect, repair, and preform various environmental processes which include Non-Destructive Testing and welding techniques. Looking for an individual who is familiar State and Federal regulations as it affects steam plant operations and industry standards (ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel Code, NBIC, NFPA, etc.) to ensure safety measures are being met.
Core Responsibilities:
Perform System Condition Assessments to identify and document system or component deficiencies, review equipment operation, and generate and drive corrective actions.
Establish and maintain effective lines of communication among various internal and external organizations.
Review and maintain System Descriptions, P&ID's, and other design basis documentation.
Perform root cause analysis of component failures and forced outages.
Provide engineering support to Steam Generating Stations.
Participate in project planning, outages, and construction processes.
Generate or review acceptance test plans, and oversee or observe testing/commissioning.
Interface with and track activities of equipment and service providers, both inside and outside the Company.
Generate detailed reports and presentations to inform and guide Central Engineering capital planning and all levels of management.
Establish and maintain effective lines of communication among various internal and external organizations.REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE5+ years experience as an Boiler Systems Engineer, specific to industrial systems
Experience diagnosing conventional utility boilers, HRSGs, and package boilers in a field environment
Utilities industry knowledge; Working in electric and steam power plants
Ability to provide efficiency testing, heat rate and performance analysis, combustion tuning, inspections, tube repairs and installations, hydrostatic testing, chemical cleaning processes
Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (at minimum)
Driver's LicenseNICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCEP.E.
