Role and Responsibilities
Boiler Operator: Responsible for safe, accurate and efficient running of the plant boilers.
· Control and adjust boiler processes to meet steam or hot water production requirements from wood and gas powered boilers
· Monitor and control boiler pressure, temperature, and other parameters to prevent equipment damage
· Monitor and control vat temperatures and heat treating process
· Perform routine rounds, water testing, and troubleshooting
· Monitor water quality by collecting and running test samples
· Work inside and outside year round
· Complete unit defined on the job training
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
· Ability to work well in a team with diverse groups
· Walking required 30-60% of time on a daily basis
· Sitting 40-70% of time on a daily basis
· Ascending and descending stairs and caged ladders, turning valve/wrench handles, reaching above shoulder height, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, repetitive motion and fine manual dexterity are all required 20-30% of time
· Security rounds completed daily with this position
Schedule: (night shift)
Wednesday 12am-6am, Thursday 6pm-6am, Friday 6pm-6am, and Saturday 6pm-6am
