Dustrol, Inc., located in Towanda, Kansas, is currently hiring a Full Time Body Shop Assistant! Dustrol, Inc. is a 100% employee-owned asphalt contractor in Towanda, Kansas that designs, builds, maintains, and modifies its own custom-made equipment for use on Cold Milling and Hot-In-Place asphalt recycling projects. Established in 1973, we have had continued success growing our footprint throughout the Midwest. Responsibilities
- Masks glass, trim, and other parts not to be painted.
- Cleans, sands, and prepares surfaces for painting.
- Applies primer and finish coats using lacquers and synthetic paints and enamels.
- Applies decals, seals, and trim as needed.
- Rub, polish, and wax finish coats.
- Replace truck window glass.
- Identify and resolve body work required to prepare trucks for painting (e.g., sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of truck cab body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.).
- Review repair orders, work orders, and estimate notes.
- Test drive trucks when necessary to ensure quality repair.
- Advise Body Shop of additional damage or supplemental needs and/or if repairs will not be completed on time.
- Teardown and inspect truck for hidden or additional repairs.
- Remove and install truck accessories as needed.
- Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills including truck manufacturer’s repair process.
- May occasionally be assigned other duties for training purposes or to meet technological changes, business needs, or emergencies.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience.
- General knowledge of processes, techniques, methods, materials, equipment, and safe work practices used in painting and body work.
- Attention to detail and craftsmanship skills.
- Degree in auto body repair technology, collision repair technology preferred, but not required.
Schedule
- 10 Hour Shifts
- Monday through Friday, 7am – 5pm
