Job Title: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Responsible to: Director of Special Education and Building Principal School Year: This position will follow the teacher calendar and hours per day although flexible hours may be required during the school year. Job Description: The Public Schools of Brookline seek a qualified BCBA to work in our schools, working directly with students whose disabilities impact behavior and self-regulation across the school day. Within a school setting, the BCBA may also be responsible for the provision of home-based services for assigned students, when part of a student's Individual Education Program (IEP).
Developing and implementing behavior support plans to maintain and/or improve behavior is an ongoing part of each student's program. Qualifications:Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification is required.Massachusetts - Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) license required.Proven work experience as a BCBA and/or similar roleQBS/SafetyCare trainer certification requiredGeneral knowledge of special education laws and regulations requiredExcellent verbal and report writing skillsCalm, empathic, patient nature requiredAbility to work collaboratively as part of an educational team requiredTravel and service delivery in multiple schools may be requiredSpecific Responsibilities include:Provide direct service to designated students with special needs.Collaborate with building-based IEP teams to identify students' needs, develop appropriate educational goals, and ensure educational progress across settings.Provide consultation to parents and guardians specific to IEP student goals and objectives. Provide consultation and training to staff regarding best practices to manage dysregulated behavior and promote positive behavioral outcomes (SafetyCare).Provide responsive and timely communication to staff and parents/guardians on a consistent basis.Complete Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) when assigned Develop and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSP) for students as required by current Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).Provide supervision and oversight to paraprofessionals implementing Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) during the school day.
