Salary: $19-$24/hourly depending on experience

Our beautiful Beginnings Birth Center is a freestanding Birth Center located in Colorado Springs, CO. We are seeking a full-time Medical Biller to join our team who has a strong interest and passion for women’s healthcare. The Medical Biller has exceptional attention to detail and accuracy who is proactive and has a strong desire to learn, grow and be adaptable. The biller is responsible for preparing billing and collecting payments for procedures and services provided at the Birth Center.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

● High School diploma or G.E.D.

● Previous billing experience required.

● Experience with computers is essential.

● Proficiency with Google Suite preferred.

● Proficiency with EMR Systems (Client Care EMR preferred).

● CPC Certification is strongly preferred.

● Knowledge of CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS codes and guidelines.

● Knowledge of medical terminology is required.

RESPONSIBILITES:

● Obtain verification of benefits, submit prior authorizations, create out-of-pocket estimates and payment plans.

● Work with patients to explain insurance coverage and the billing process.

● Ensure the clients’ medical insurance information is accurate and up to date for billing purposes, and request missing information from clients when needed.

● Prepare and submit clean billing data and medical claims on UB04 and HCFAs to insurance companies, ensuring attention to detail.

● Review and resolve claim rejections promptly.

● Follow up diligently on outstanding insurance claims, make insurance phone calls, and process filing

reconsiderations, appeals, dispute letters utilizing payor portal and phone calls.

● Submit medical records to insurance payors when requested.

● Post ERA and paper Explanation of Benefits to client accounts.

● Submit claims to secondary or tertiary payors when needed.

● Prepare client invoices and ensure accuracy.

● Follow-up on missed payments and resolve financial discrepancies.

● Help clients develop payment plans.

● Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all billing activities.

● Review payor recoupment requests for accuracy.

● Participates in answering client questions and grievances regarding billing.

● Credential new providers with all payors.

● Contracting with new insurance payors.

● Participate and contribute to meetings.

● Represents Beginnings Birth Center in a professional manner to the community.

● Other duties as assigned

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
