ACGENE Lab is an (Irvine) California-based research company, dedicated to the development of an individualized gene-editing & stem cell therapy platform technology for a Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy type 2B (LGMD2B) patients, with potential applicability to other sub-types of LGMD.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Handling, preservation or fixation, processing or preparation, and transportation and storage of samples
- Perform routine and non-routine experiment and analyses using the appropriate technical equipment and instruments
- Accurate data entry, receive, label, and analyze samples
- Verify all samples and data received.
- Organize and store all supplies in inventory; Keeping records on inventory lists
- Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures, make observations, and interpret findings
- Record all data and results with accuracy and responsibility
- Perform quality control of samples
- Maintain equipment in proper working order and maintain a clean work area
- Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies
- Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Practice safe work habits, including complying with all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
Qualifications
- Degree in Molecular biology, Genetics, Biology, Biochemistry or related field in Biology
- Proven 1-2 years of experience as Lab Technician or relevant position
- This may include: Molecular biology techniques, PCR, gel electrophoresis, staining, microscopy, cell culture, cell sorting
- Transfection with chemical reagents (i.e Lipofectamine, Fugene)
- Plasmid Cloning (Preferred)
- Transfection with electroporation (Preferred)
- Stem Cell Differentiation (Preferred)
- Genotyping, and colony management experience (Preferred)
- Computer skills: knowledge of Google Docs and Sheets and other relevant computer programs
- Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratios
- Ability to write correspondence and reports
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, standing for long periods of time, etc.
- Experience in operating electrical and nonelectrical laboratory equipment and potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, infectious bacteria, biohazards, etc.)
- Excellent physical condition and endurance
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure

Schedule
- Day shift (8 hours: 8am to 4:30pm; 30-minute unpaid meal break)
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends Availability if necessary
