The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine is a growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the St. Jude Global (SJG) mission of training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research. The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is seeking a Biostatistician to provide analytic support to program teams in GPM and SJG. The Biostatistician provides research expertise to collaborators in GPM and SJG, in all aspects of conducting statistical analyses for clinical studies, global surveys, and research projects. These activities are to be executed as appropriate under the guidance of the director of Global Analytics.
Responsibilities include:
- Data processing, statistical analyses, and reporting for clinical studies, global surveys, and research projects
- Participating in the testing and implementation phase of data collection instruments and electronic data capture (EDC) systems for assigned projects.
- Developing simulation models for decision analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, and projection of disease burden.
- Using statistical techniques and mathematical modeling, to analyze data and make valid inferences
- Interpretation and explanation of results to clinical collaborators
- Developing templates for Graphical representation and dynamic report generation for ongoing projects which are implemented repetitively in different regions of the world.
- Data visualizations; developing dashboards (using R shiny, Microsoft Power BI or other tools)
- Good understanding of mathematical modeling and knowledge of general-purpose programming languages such as SAS, R, R Markdown, R Tidyverse (ggplots2 and dplyr), SQL

Minimum Education:
- Master's Degree in biostatistics, applied statistics, or related field required.
Minimum Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience consistent with that expected of the Statistical Analyst position.
Skills and Abilities:
- Serving as a resource to faculty in advanced data analysis Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in healthcare data management
- Knowledge of statistical methods. Familiarity with descriptive statistics, linear statistical models, categorical data analysis, generalized liner models, multivariable analysis, and survival analysis
- Knowledge of simulation models and their applications to clinical research.
- Knowledge of statistical software including but not limited to SAS, R, etc.
- Knowledge of common EDCs such as REDCap, Qualtrics, TrialMaster, and others
- Knowledge of data visualization and dynamic report generation methods using R and SAS , including ggplot2, rmarkdown package, SAS ODS, proc report, SAS macro.Basic knowledge of other programming skills like HTML and CSS, Git would be added strengths
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Cultural sensitivity is a must
