The successful candidate will be responsible for selling new and existing products, supplies and instrumentation to Pharmaceutical, Biotech, Clinical Diagnostic, Academic, and other research & production-based accounts. This individual will be responsible for meeting company goals and revenue targets by using a dedicated and consultative selling approach.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The candidate must be able to understand a customer's technical requirements in order to provide solutions that meet expectations. Effective communication skills are required for customer and product management, product presentations and customer support. The successful candidate will manage all sales activities within a defined territory and work with other members of the regional team.
- Expand existing customer relationships through consultative selling techniques.
- Support the sales efforts of the regional teams on a focused product portfolio.
- Consult with Moderate to High Throughput Laboratories or companies to streamline lab operations and improve value.
- Work with customers on-site to review current lab processes and present new protocols that meet their goals and capabilities.
- Discuss & present workflow solutions for Genomics, Proteomics and Molecular Screening.
- Develop new relationships and implement strategies to increase sales.
- Enhance brand recognition, competitiveness, and profitability.
- Reply in both a prompt and professional manner to customer inquiries and requests.
- Meet individual objectives and revenue goals for the assigned territory.
- Provide competitive intelligence, market insight, changes in customer needs/preferences, purchasing trends, and marketing effectiveness information to internal stakeholders in Management, Marketing, Product Category Management, etc. on a consistent basis.
- Work with sales management to develop strategic territory business plans for achievement of sales growth and quota attainment.
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, tradeshows, etc. periodically
- Actively (Daily) maintain, update, and work all customer profiles, projects in CRM (SalesForce.com).
- Present products, new workflow solutions and services to customers.
- Communicate with the Category & Marketing teams to roll out and monitor marketing campaigns and promote key workflow solutions.
- Work closely with suppliers to understand the capabilities that can be offered to the market.
- Work closely with customers to understand the needs in the industry and collaborate with suppliers to present unique solutions.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite [Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc]
- Knowledge of a CRM such as Salesforce, ACT, Sugar, etc.
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs with a good pair of shoes!
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to 'close' opportunities
