WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Self-Accountability Accepts guidance and training from more experienced members of the Clinical Engineering department in a way that reflects the Franciscan Alliance mission and values. Demonstrates self-accountability for completion of his or her assigned service activities, as directed by supervisor or more experienced team members.
  • Equipment Services Communicates with clinical care providers regarding the status of any equipment service activities, adjusting activities when necessary to accommodate patient care schedules, while still assuring regulatory compliance.
  • Medical Equipment Service Delivers high quality and cost-effective results by performing medical equipment service and providing technical support across a wide range of device types and in multiple clinical care areas, following the organizational policies and procedures.
  • Department Budget Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the department budget by using good judgment to plan and prioritize activities and by considering a variety of different service strategies to assure the highest possible level of efficiency and cost-effectiveness for all services provided.
  • Equipment Information Documentation Documents equipment information and service activities within the medical equipment database to assure timely, accurate and complete service documentation and inventory management.
  • Clinical Engineering Department Success Participates in ensuring the success and positive reputation of the Clinical Engineering department by willingly and competently performing any necessary service functions and related administrative activities.
  • Healthcare Technology, Regulatory Changes Participates in relevant technical and professional training or related activities to stay informed about changes in healthcare technology, regulatory requirements and other external factors that may affect the activities of the Clinical Engineering department.
  • Issues Management Takes action to appropriately respond to and make supervisor aware of any concerns of those we are privileged to serve, patient incidents, significant device failures or other urgent situation that may arise within the daily activities of the Clinical Engineering team.
  • Continuous Improvement Takes responsibility for identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations for positive changes in processes to improve the quality of service or contribute to positive patient or organizational outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS
    • Required High School Diploma/GED
    • Preferred Associate's Degree
    • Preferred Bachelor's Degree

    • 2 years BS degree in a technology related field with at least 2 years relevant progressive service experience in Healthcare Technology Required
    • 4 years AS degree in a technology related field with at least 4 years relevant progressive service experience in Healthcare Technology Required
    • 7 years If neither AS nor BS degree in a technology related field, 7 years relevant progressive service experience in a related field with at least 2 years in Healthcare Technology Required

    • A+ Certified Professional (A+CERT) - CompTIA A+, Network +, Security + or related IT certification required within 24 months.
    • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) CBET, CHTM or CCE preferred within 24 months
