Summary:
Goldbelt Apex, LLC is looking for a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to perform a variety of Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician II (BMET II) duties in the Health Equipment Management Branch (HEMB), Medical Maintenance Section, at TAMC.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct scheduled (preventive maintenance inspections) and unscheduled (repairs) services of medical equipment to include visual inspections, electrical safety inspections, calibration, and performance verification.
  • Interpretation of scheduled services results to determine whether equipment is safe and operating within manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Contract personnel shall document and manage all entries of preventive maintenance inspections and equipment repairs in the designated system of record.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of electronic equipment and its operation, repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the application and repair of computers and servers and how they interface with medical equipment.
  • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology as applied to use of Biomedical Equipment.
  • Knowledge of color code conventions used in component and wiring marking.
  • Ability to analyze, repair, and test electronic and electromechanical equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Ability to run diagnostic programs.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated parts drawings of biomedical instrumentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment; to push/pull equipment carts; and to kneel, stand, bend, and reach during equipment repair.
  • Skill in testing electronic equipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Biomedical Equipment Specialist/Technician Course, Associates, or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Engineering.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical devices/systems.
The salary range for this position is $70,000/yr to $78,000/yr.
