SalaryJob Summary: The Bindery Operator must be able to set up and operate multiple bindery machines including Horizon, StitchLiner, Horizon Cross Folder, Horizon Crease - Folder, Horizon Perfect Binder, Horizon Smart Slitter, Cutters and develop an understanding of other bindery equipment.
Willing to train right person. Mechanically inclined, hardworking, machine operators encouraged to apply. Wage dependent on experience.
Reports to: Production Manager
Production Responsibilities:
Machine set up and operation:
Set up and fine tuning of machines to ensure minimal drops and stops during operation.
Set and monitor machine calipers to ensure quality of finished product.
Set up, adjust, and repair stitcher heads as needed for smooth and trouble-free operation.
Change and adjust trimmer knives.
Inspect working parts and be able to recognize those that need replacement.
Maintain a machine to cut paper stock preparatory to binding or folding.
Maintain a machine that automatically folds, slits, perforates and/ or scores printed sheets in preparation for binding or shipment.
Constantly monitor quality of finished product
Be responsible for general maintenance and lubrication of machine.
Assist with housekeeping in the bindery area.
Be thoroughly familiar with all areas of job finishing sheet.
Follows all required safety procedures such as: PPE's. Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
