Summary
The Distributed Construction team at MiTek is revolutionizing the construction industry through the creation of a new way of designing and building that brings the industry into the digital era leveraging computational design, advanced BIM/VDC, and the physical internet. We are looking for a BIM Specialist, to be part of our VDC Implementation team.
This critical role in the Modular Delivery and Implementation Team will lead implementation efforts for the VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) and Pre-Construction phases of MiTek's Distributed Construction platform. The VDC Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and coordination of virtual construction infrastructure on projects utilizing processes, technologies in design, engineering, and construction methodologies.
Job Responsibilities & Requirements
Essential Functions:
  • Design BIM standards: Responsible for supporting the delivery and implementation of project specific BIM tools used throughout the project lifecycle. This includes creating and maintaining structured templates for content in support of multiple projects, of 3D models that integrate various aspects of a modular construction project supporting the implementation of specific projects, and managing data structures within Revit that connect to MiTek's broader BIM platform.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Implement processes that combined will allow stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to collaborate, develop effective communication and coordination and to prevent and resolve potential issues or conflicts early in the project design and construction phases.
  • Technology Integration: Support the integration of new tools and technologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration within the virtual construction environment. Work to develop project specific requirements and deliverables such as construction documentation, automating laser files and worker illustrations
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Develop robust quality control processes associated with BIM models and virtual construction.
  • Training and Development Support: The VDC Specialist will play a crucial role in training execution project team members on BIM standards, tools and methodologies.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline is often required.
  • Advanced degree in related fields is a plus
  • 5+ years of experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC). Candidates with a background in project management, BIM (Building Information Modeling), digital coordination or related fields will be preferred
  • Experience in using BIM software and managing virtual construction processes such as through Autodesk Construction Cloud Build and BIM Collaborateis highly valued.
  • Strong proficiency in BIM tools and processes is a key qualification. Candidates should be well-versed in the use of software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Autocad or other industry-standard BIM tools
  • Proficiency in developing structured datasets and data standards related that can be applied to 3D models and translated into BOMs and construction documents
  • Knowledgeable in BIM visual programming such as Dynamo
  • Experience in setting up BIM standards and Revit family creation

Skills & Abilities
The ideal candidate must possess outstanding written & verbal communication, graphic presentation, project management, and process development skills. Proven ability to manage high volume collaboration and communication needs for various stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and advance architectural/engineering representations from LOD100 to LOD500
  • Skilled in developing construction documents from schematic design through construction documentation.
  • Pre-construction: Experience managing pre-construction/contruction processes will be highly valued
  • Ability to think execute tactically and think strategically, creating BIM solutions that can be standardized and scaled
