Primary Responsibilities
In the role of BIM Piping Designer, we'll count on you to:
- Model mechanical piping system layouts and perform elementary mechanical design of piping systems for water / wastewater, utility, industrial, and institutional power and energy facilities
- Prepare piping diagrams, composite piping plans, equipment arrangements, piping isometrics, and other detailed drawings required for fabrication and construction under the supervision of a Process Designer or Engineer
- Route piping in 3D using Revit software
- Prepare and manage the construction drawings (plans, sections, isometrics, details) for the for the process design through the project's life cycle in Revit
- Perform other duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD
- Comprehensive understanding of piping systems
- Strong computer skills utilizing Revit software.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Active interest in learning the engineering disciplines assigned and growing into a senior designer.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Technology program or combination of education and relevant experience preferred
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm preferred
- Piping design/drafting experience preferred
- Other compatible piping design programs is a plus such as MicroStation or AutoCAD Plant 3D preferred
- Local candidates preferred
