The role of a Building Information Modeling (BIM) MEP Coordinator is critical within the construction and architectural industries. At Resia, our BIM MEP Coordinator plays a pivotal role, overseeing Model Coordination, generating construction documentation, and executing BIM projects specific to MEP systems. Leveraging BIM technology and methodologies, this professional orchestrates and supervises Resia’s BIM process for MEP-focused construction projects, promoting collaboration amongst project teams and ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry standards.

This role involves direct involvement in the preparation of BIM construction documentation and the oversight of drawing development by team members, guaranteeing technical accuracy and completeness within the MEP context. Moreover, the BIM MEP Coordinator at Resia assumes the essential responsibility of offering support to project team members on BIM MEP best practices.

•  Ensure compliance of MEP construction detail documentation to quality control and best practices in BIM.
• Monitor the preparation of technical drawings related to MEP systems in BIM, supervising and ensuring accuracy.
• Participate in team meetings in BIM to resolve MEP project issues and adhere to the schedule regarding technical issues.
• Provide support for printing and electronic files related to MEP systems in BIM, managing document accessibility within the BIM environment.
• Collaborate with project team members in BIM, integrating MEP elements with architecture and other engineering systems. 
• Ensure that MEP deliverables in BIM meet established milestones and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and training on BIM tools and workflows specific to MEP systems to new hires.
• Coordinate with the CDE Manager and provide MEP-specific support when necessary.
• Coordinate a team effort in BIM to promptly and successfully complete MEP projects.
• Lead and develop MEP projects from the early concept through design development in BIM.
• Prepare drawings and construction documents related to MEP systems in BIM.
• Review and analyze BIM models to identify MEP clashes and conflicts.
• Manage and organize BIM MEP data, including model files, documents, and project information.
• Resolve complex design issues related to MEP systems with innovative and practical solutions in BIM.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in BIM technology and methodologies, specifically in MEP contexts.
• Support Manager in any task asked, being a reliable assistant, lightening their workload, and contributing to overall team success.

Qualifications and Experience

•  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
•  7+ years of BIM production experience in design, drafting, or engineering, with a focus on MEP systems.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and industry standards, specifically in the context of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems.
• Experience in project management and coordination is a plus.

Knowledge and Skills

•  In-depth working knowledge of BIM Methodology, with a focus on MEP systems.
• Proficiency in BIM software: Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar applications.
• Understanding and knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, building construction, building systems, and site requirements, with a specific emphasis on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing disciplines.
• Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals.
• Must possess and maintain an exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values.
• Possess the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
