Job Summary: Seeking full time employee for a busy Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery office. The Biller/Coder is responsible for collecting reimbursements by gathering, coding and transmitting Oral Surgery claims to payers, resolving discrepancies, adjusting patient bills, preparing reports, resolving electronic claims issues, auditing medical records, identifying and resolving patient billing complaints, reviewing codes to ensure billing and coding compliance. Medical & Dental billing and coding experience required. Salary negotiable depending on experience.
Duties:
- Reviews medical record for billing information
- Submits Third Party Claims either by paper or electronic filing
- Verifies coding
- Resolves claims by gathering, verifying and providing additional information
- Follows up on delinquent insurance accounts
- Adjusts patient bills according to policy
- Schedules cases
- Answers incoming calls – as needed
- Communicates with software vendor to resolve billing issues
- Posts Payments – electronic remits and manual posting
- Processes End of Day Revenue Reports
- Processes End of Day Scheduling Audit
- Performs Medical Record Chart Audit as needed
- Files Medical Records as needed
- Serves as back up insurance verification clerk
- Serves as back up for Surgery Registration
- Maintains payer contract book
- Maintains fee schedule
- Reconciles petty cash – as needed
- Reconciles end of day
- Coordinates training for revenue cycle staff
- Updates approved revenue cycle policies to server
- Coordinates back up plan - as needed
- Coordinates coding for hospital cases
- Ensures strict confidentiality of financial records
- Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPPA guidelines/regulations
- Participates in educational activities and attends staff meetings
Adheres to AMOS employee manual and policy/ procedures
