Job Description
Hiring a Biller/Insurance Clerk to work in the Business Office. Position is 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm with a rotating Saturday and Holiday schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Completes Alpha split of billing for Medicare, Medicare Supplement, Medicaid/MCO and Blue Cross Blue Shield.
- Responsible for the timely preparation and transmission of hospital insurance claims and other insurance duties.
- Prepares and transmits all claims electronically.
- Researches denied claims and files appeals or corrected claims for payment.
- Researches aged claims that are unpaid to get payment resolution.
- Answers patient’s questions regarding statements and insurance coverage.
- Switchboard and Patient Registration
Qualifications:
- Education: Must be a high school graduate or equivalent. Degree/certificate in insurance billing or experience in health insurance billing preferred.
Experience:
- Experience: Must have good computer and communication skills. Insurance billing experience preferred. Must be friendly and service orientated.
Job knowledge:
- Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel and Word helpful. Should be familiar with Medicare and health insurance benefits and be able to answer questions for the patients and general public.
