Form of workCorVel, a national managed health care company, has an opportunity for a Bill Review Analyst with California coding and hospital bill audit experience to join our Folsom Bill Review team. We are looking for someone who has attention to detail, the ability to work under deadlines, and experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook. The ideal candidate will also have strong customer interaction skills via email and phone.
This is a remote opportunity.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for review of medical bills for multiple states to ensure payment recommendation adhere to state fee schedule, customer and contracted PPO guidelines. Seeking a team orientated individual who enjoys providing excellent customer service and enjoys paying attention to details.
- Confirm claimant and health care provider information
- Confirm diagnosis between medical bills and claims data
- Confirm and apply utilization review authorization/denial when applicable
- Utilize and interpret supporting documentation attached to medical billings
- Application of appropriate Fee Schedule and PPO Contracted reductions
- Additional duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Microsoft Windows & Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong detailed analytical skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of CMS 1500 and UB Billing form types as well as experience with CPT, ICD9, HCPCS, REV Codes and NDC numbers.
- Ability to understand CA FS, Hospital Inpatient, Outpatient and Surgery bill coding using DRG validation, service/treatment vs. scope of discipline and knowledge of appropriate CA billing protocols, etc.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with customer service interactions.
- 2+ years' experience in Medical Bill Review (Workers' Compensation; Accident/Health and/or Auto) or Medical Provider Billing.
PAY RANGE:
CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.
For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.
Pay Range: $15.50 - $21.81 per hour
