This position is for the 2024-2025 academic year with an expected start date of July 1 or after; Texas applicants only.

Technology Aspect
To establish a clear duty of care, Stellar Virtual and its affiliates require all employees to cover the costs associated with acquiring and providing the equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) associated with virtual employment.


Position Overview

The Elementary Bilingual Teacher holds a multifaceted role encompassing various responsibilities crucial to young students' academic and linguistic development. At the core of their duties is providing bilingual instruction to students, and facilitating the acquisition of English language skills while maintaining and nurturing proficiency in their native language. This entails designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to students' diverse needs and learning styles, integrating language acquisition strategies seamlessly into the curriculum across subjects.


Essential Position Functions


  • Deliver direct instruction lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assess student learning styles and adapt instructional activities accordingly.
  • Conduct regular office hours and provide individual/group tutoring as needed.
  • Collaborate with Special Education Teachers to modify curricula for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP).
  • Work with colleagues to establish instructional goals and methods according to school requirements.
  • Assess student achievement and STAAR readiness through various assessments.
  • Utilize student skills, values, and interest surveys to promote individualized instruction.
  • Serve as a positive role model, fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Create an engaging online classroom conducive to learning and students' development.
  • Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Maintain accurate records and files as required.
  • Foster professional relationships and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
  • Monitor student attendance, course progress, and engagement, coordinating interventions when necessary.
  • Establish regular communication patterns with students and families through various channels.
  • Participate in staff development activities to enhance job-related skills.
  • Engage in faculty meetings, peer learning communities, and staff committees.
  • Proctor in-person state test sites as needed and requested based on business needs.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities


  • Fluent and literate in both English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of biliteracy instructional practices
  • Knowledge of language acquisition
  • Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned.
  • Passion for student success and putting students first.
  • Proficiency in the assigned core academic subject.
  • Commitment to data-driven instructional practices.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience.
  • Experience using student information systems and other databases.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (including but not limited to Google Meets, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms, and Google Slides), LMS, and Zoom.
  • Successful completion of a required background check.

Education & Certification Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required (Master's degree preferred).
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • A valid Texas Educator Certificate, either Generalist or Core Subjects, in EC-4 or EC-6 with a Bilingual Certificate/Endorsement.
  • Completed Texas Reading Academies (required)
