JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for completing full and individual evaluations of students, including psychological evaluations, autism evaluations, and evaluations of ADD/ADHD to recommend disability conditions and the need for special education services to the ARD Committee. Provides written reports and interprets test results for student, parents, and school staff. Provides counseling as a related service to students with disabilities. Provides consultation to school staff regarding prevention and/or intervention strategies for students with behavioral problems that impact school performance. Attends initial and reevaluation ARD Committee meetings and assists in the development of the student's IEP and BIP. Consults with staff on manifestation review determination (MDR) issues when the student has been identified with an emotional disturbance.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: EXPERIENCE:

• One year experience in education

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification/Licensure:

• Master's degree in related field
• Valid license as a specialist in School Psychology from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of administration and interpretation of appropriate evaluation instruments
• Knowledge of public laws and district procedures regarding special education
• Maintaining two-way communication between various stakeholders
• Demonstrated organizational skills
• Bilingual in Spanish
