POSITION SUMMARY:
Processes all specialty referrals:
- Scheduling,
- tracking, and reporting,
- working with patient, providers, and outside provider offices and agencies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High school graduate or equivalent with GED
- One to three (3)-year clerical/referral experience strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and experiences, socio-economics backgrounds and literacy levels is required.
- Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to quickly learn new software
- Knowledge of medical record format and content of patient records
- Ability to examine record and verify patient identification
- Detail oriented
- Ability to evaluate and process documents with accuracy
- Ability to examine forms, standard and nonstandard, and determine complete
- Ability to navigate the patient registration system, EMR, and Zeta fax
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and adjust setting of office equipment
- Excellent customer service skills with ability to communicate and interact with peers, physicians, patient care personnel, and the public
- Initiative/flexibility and the proven ability to problem solve.
- Ability to independently with minimal supervision and as a cooperative member of a team is required.
