Description

Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is hiring a Bilingual (English/Spanish preferred) Master's level Unlicensed Therapist (MA in counseling, LSW, LPCC, or MFT), a Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) or an Unlicensed/Licensed Psychologist to join the Refugee Team. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others and serving an international community. They bring some knowledge or experience of working with refugees and/or immigrants and are eager to develop skills and learn more about the communities that we serve and their cultures, languages, and traditions. They enjoy working on a multidisciplinary team that is primarily composed of people with refugee/immigrant backgrounds and they are committed to our agency's core values and solid communication, that help them work well with colleagues, clients, and supervisors.

 

Bilingual (English/Spanish) language fluency is required, and we provide a generous bilingual pay differential!

 

About the team.

The Refugee Clinic, which includes the Trauma Resilience Youth Program (TRYP), is highly motivated to support youth who identify as refugee or first/second generation immigrants in Aurora. The team provides individual and group mental health and psychosocial support services, with a focus on evidence-based practice and additional interventions at the family and community levels, including Trauma Systems Therapy for Refugees (TST-R) and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET). The team has been providing services to a diverse community of refugees and immigrants for more than seven years and hopes to expand programming in innovative ways based on the needs of the community.

 

Shift.

We are hiring a full-time therapist to work within our team. We have flexible work schedules including 4- and 5-day workweeks. We have a hybrid work schedule where you can enjoy working remotely half-time and work in the office 2 days per week!

 

Sign On Bonus Available! *Not eligible for internal employees and re-hired employees within 90 days from separation.

Based on full time (40 hours/week). Prorate if less than 40 hours/week. Paid in two installments: 50% on first paycheck, 50% on paycheck following 6-month anniversary.

  • $2,000 for Unlicensed Therapist.
  • $3,000 for Licensed Therapist.
  • $4,000 for LCSW Therapist with adults.
  • $3,000 for Unlicensed Psychologist.
  • $5,000 for Licensed Psychologist

 

Salary for this role.

Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Fewer than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE. Salary is also based on experience, licensure and company equity. Paid bi-weekly. 

  • Unlicensed Therapist: $54,911.66 - $75,142.37 per year.
  • Licensed Therapist: $65,208 - $89,232 per year.
  • Unlicensed Psychologist: $68,637.25 - $81,836.73  per year.
  • Licensed Psychologist: $89,232 - $106,392 per year.

 

Bilingual Language Differential Pay. *rate depends on language requirements for the position and candidate's fluency. 

  • 10% of base salary up to a maximum of $6,000/year *the annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full time equivalency (FTE).

 

About the role. 

The position is an integral member of a behavioral health team dedicated to providing culturally and linguistically responsive care to refugees and immigrants, consisting of mental health providers and health navigators. Provide refugee and immigrant youth and families mental health and psychosocial support, including individual, family, and/or group therapy. Work with health navigators who provide interpretation and cultural brokerage. Offer cultural training/input to the team. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate recovery and optimal quality of life in clients with behavioral health concerns, by providing clinical services, case management and education. In collaboration with the client, create and carry out a consistent plan of treatment, from intake and assessment to closure.
  • Utilize oral and written Spanish skills to provide therapy services in Spanish with children, youth, and families.
  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, individual, family and/or group therapy with assigned clients.
  • Develop and monitor treatment plans; update at required intervals.
  • Consult with internal and external professionals and collaterals to ensure access to needed services and proactive coordination of care.
  • Provide clinical case-management services as needed. Provide crisis intervention as appropriate.
  • Provide comprehensive clinical services designed to decrease symptoms and improve quality of life.
  • Assist clients to evaluate strengths and symptoms, and set their own goals.
  • Guide and instruct clients in coping skills.
  • Offer consultation to community partners and providers.
  • Ensure that billing information is up-to-date for assigned clients. Seek insurance authorization for services as required.
  • Write reports and other correspondence, as necessary, and with appropriate releases.
  • Complete all requests to provide the necessary information and undertake the required activities to ensure timely and ongoing credentialing with third party payers.
  • Staff member will monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the clients care team.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Spanish-speaking: We receive many referrals for Spanish speaking youth and families and are looking for a Spanish speaker at this time.
  • Unlicensed Therapist: Masters degree in counseling and License eligible: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). At least one year clinical experience preferred in diagnosing, completing intake assessments and individual, family or group therapy.
  • Unlicensed Psychologist: Doctorate degree in psychology and License eligible: License eligible as Psychologist (PhD, PSYD). At least one year relevant experience providing clinical care to appropriate client population, including conducting individual, family and/or group therapy.
  • Licensed Therapist and Psychologist: at least two years clinical experience providing care including conducting individual, family and/or group therapy.
  • Professional licensure: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC.), Licensed Psychologist (PhD, PSYD).
  • Knowledge of theories and evidence based practices related to clinical treatment.
  • Ability to learn and utilize an electronic health record with proficiency.
  • Solid understanding of mental illness and treatment modalities within multidisciplinary approach.
  • Knowledge of DSM-V.
  • Ability to understand and effectively respond to all client presentations and crisis situations.
  • Ability to document interactions with clients, other agencies and mental health professionals.

 

Required Vaccinations and TB Test.

AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, receive an annual influenza (flu) shot, and receive negative TB test results prior to their first day of hire. Proof of both vaccinations and negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical and religious exemptions may be requested for either COVID 19 vaccine, annual flu shot or TB test.
