Position / Group description:

The Risk Management Technology group provides support to global Risk Management in the areas of technology and information processing for measuring, quantifying, analyzing, controlling, and reporting Risk exposures for traded securities products.

The position is for a Reporting & BI developer who will be part of Technology team supporting the Global Risk Management Technology group.  The work assignments will include playing a key developer role in major project related work.  Projects will include custom development, implementation and integration of vendor products, enhancement/support of existing systems for both on-prem and cloud based solutions.

The Role will involve designing and developing dashboards, data source feeds, and complete applications by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting issues and resolving production problems along with supporting users by developing documentation and assistance tools.  Development platforms include QlikSense (current focus) as well as other standard legacy and cloud native BI solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work as a Business Intelligence & Reporting Developer in Risk Management Technology
  • Work closely with business analysts/project managers/other developers/stakeholders to implement requirements
  • Verify implementation, perform functional testing, and deliver the system/module in production
  • Perform initial tests to cover functional and non-functional requirements before end users do their UAT
  • Migrate existing on-premises BI & reporting frameworks to Cloud solutions

 

Essential Experience/ Skills:

  • Good understanding of BI / data analytics platforms and best practices for handling large data volumes
  • Good understanding of data ware housing and RDBMS concepts with exposure to one or more OLAP, OLTP, in memory databases
  • Experience in using AWS or related cloud products for BI & Reporting solutions
  • Design and develop visualizations using QlikSense or related BI platforms
  • Good experience in using script and chart functions to transform and aggregate data
  • Develop complex expressions on a variety of timeseries data
  • Build granular data load and app load tasks for faster and flexible data availability
  • Strong in data modeling and SQL development
  • Adept in using Vizlib visualization library and any other QlikSense third party extensions
  • Experience and knowledge of SDLC methodologies and development processes such as requirement gathering, analysis and definition, prototyping, proof of concept, designing and implementation
  • Use Jira, confluence and bitbucket for full development cycle (requirement to deployment)
  • Experience in using workload scheduling systems such as TWS
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

Preferred:

  • Exposure in financial services industry, preferably with exposure to market risk or counterparty credit risk applications
  • Knowledge of market risk domain like VaR, PnL vectors, various methods to calculate portfolio VaR, sensitivities etc.
  • Experience in ETL (extract, transform and Load) development
  • Object oriented programming experience using .net / java frameworks or python scripting
  • Knowledge of Cloud native services, serverless services and micro-service architecture

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$225,000
