Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated BI Process Improvement Intern to join our Business Intelligence team for a three-month internship. The intern will work closely with the Director of Business Intelligence to assess and improve our current BI processes and workflows. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical, technical, communication, and project management skills and be able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This will be an 8-to-12-week internship for the summer, 20 hours per week. Pay rate of $18/hour.
Responsibilities:

  • Assess current project requirements process for business intelligence reporting and provide proposal of a template or standard process for other BI team members to use.
  • Assess BI ticket workflow and work with IT Service Management team on improvements. Bring proposed solution and plan to implement.
  • Work with the Director on improvements to Portfolio process and reporting.
  • Analyze data and identify trends and patterns to identify areas of improvement in existing processes.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members to propose changes and implement improvements.
  • Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Research and recommend new technologies or methodologies to improve BI processes and workflows.
  • Work collaboratively with the Business Intelligence team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as business administration, computer science, data analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in learning and growing in the field of business intelligence and analytics.
  • Knowledge of business intelligence software such as Tableau, Power BI, as well as SQL and database management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to manage change effectively.
  • Self-starter with a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the organization.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

This is a paid internship for a period of three months. At the end of the internship, the intern will have gained valuable experience in business intelligence processes and workflows, project management, and change management methodologies. The intern will also have an opportunity to work on real projects with the potential for future full-time employment opportunities.
